Transport Driver & Technician

Overview:
We are seeking a versatile Transport Driver / Heavy Equipment Technician to join our material handling team. This role combines safe and efficient transport of heavy equipment with hands-on maintenance and repair support in the shop. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL license, proven experience with load securement, and a mechanical background working on heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate company trucks to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites, facilities, and customer locations
  • Load and unload heavy equipment, securing loads with chains and straps in compliance with DOT safety standards
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues or concerns
  • Conduct light mechanical work, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on heavy equipment when not driving
  • Assist shop technicians with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and service tasks as needed
  • Maintain accurate records for transport and repair activities
  • Provide professional, courteous service during equipment deliveries and customer interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety procedures
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class A CDL license required
  • Experience transporting and securing heavy equipment with chains and straps
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy equipment or diesel repair preferred
  • Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, and equipment in varied environments
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and load securement regulations
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physically capable of handling loading, unloading, and repair tasks
